How to install Tor on iOS (iPhone/iPad) - Tutorial

To install Tor on iOS (iPhone/iPad), you just need to install the Onion Browser.

In fact, the recommended way (by the Tor Project) is to use the Onion Browser on your iOS device (iPhone/iPad). At the moment there is no other way to just install Tor on iOS i.e. to run certain apps (or all apps) behind Tor.

If you need such a Tor functionality on your mobile device, you'd need to get an Android device and use the Orbot Tor app.

If you just want to browse the web anonymously (clearnet) or to visit .onion addresses (onion sites/hidden services/darknet) on you iOS device (iPhone/iPad) then all your needs are covered by the Onion Browser.

The Onion Browser App for iOS is an unofficial Version of the Tor Browser, it is open source (important), available for free and mentioned on the Tor project website as an alternative for the official Tor Browser on iOS (iPhone and iPad). (The Tor Project's statement on the official Tor Project blog about the Onion Browser on iOS.)

Attention: Do not use any other browser on iOS that claims to provide the same functionality as the Tor Browser! Unless it is recommended by the Tor Project. Other apps are probably insecure or even harmful for your privacy/anonymity or are rip-off if they cost money.
